Good morning.

The ancient Stoics viewed our desires as a form of slavery. In other words, the things we pine for, beyond what is naturally necessary to survive and thrive as humans, take away our freedom by making us subservient to them.

We chase and chase things we think we need. The outcome is usually the same. Either we acquire the object of our desire and feel satisfied for the briefest of periods before forming a new desire. Or we remain in a perpetual state of chasing.

But how are these desires formed in the first place?
