Good morning.
If you’ve ever thought about what a life of true freedom would look like, you’ve probably considered the indulgence of every whim being a normality.
To Stoics, however, a daily routine of unrestrained gratification doesn’t make us free. In fact, this couldn’t be further from the Stoic understanding of freedom.
One justification is this: if we only ever do what compels us most, we risk becoming trapped in compulsion or addiction.
